Small point you might not have thought of: When the color is defined in a post like this, anyone with black/dark background can't see the text. :\ It'd be better to just define text color for the warning section where you've defined the background color. Then it looks right on everyone's pages.

I thought of it - the idea is to scroll over to see the warnings. strike that, sorry.

you're right, and usually I leave it at default, but I wanted to block the warnings because they can be offputting.

If you used a span tag just around the warning with <*span style="color: #000000; background-color: #000000"*> (minus the *, of course) in it, it would only effect the bit you want to hide.
