I'm fairly new to this particular fandom and pairing, but I've already worked my way through pretty much all of Spanderfiles. So what I'm looking for is your fave fics that CAN'T be found on that site. I'm not interested in non-con or really dark fic, but anything else is great. I've read everything posted here on bloodclaim for the last several months, so I'd really like stuff that is older. Thank you! ^__^

Have you read my Spander? Found on my page at

I'm not going to rec anything specific, just give you a hint. Go to the info pages of the authors you've enjoyed here on Bloodclaim, and click on their "Memories". You can find a lot of older things that you haven't seen yet.

I have a list of fic recs here at Bloodclaim, though some of the links are, I fear, no longer working. You could work your way through that, and then go and raid the journals/websites of some of the members here - (me *g*,) tabaqui, reremouse, witling, entrenous88, ladycat777, kyrieane, amejisuto, suki_blue, crazydiamondsue... *flails* So many great writers, so little time!

Welcome to the fandom. :D

YOU have become one of my favorite writers. I worked my way through your LJ the other night; I don't remember the title, but the one where there's an earthquake and Xander gets electrocuted in the hospital? LOVE IT.

Dammit, I need to get a paid LJ account so I can have more Spander icons. Most of mine are Firefly. *g*

When I exhausted the Spanderfiles website, I found the master list of fics from the Spander Inquisition helped.

My suggestion is to find the awards sites. They usually have the top stories from many different ships/situations in the 'verse. There aren't any SPander specific ones that I know of, but the White Knight Awards are heavy on the Spander, and most definitely the best place to find other Xander related really good stories. They are on the 4th round now, and their site has both nominations and winners for the past three. It can be found here:

The Spanderfiles.

I put my faith in this site. Pick your flavor of fic, my friend.

Haha damn. I obviously can't read.

Well, anything by tabaqui is usually good. And, uh...let's see.

I sometimes come across random fic rec lists that I save but can't remember how I found them, so there is this site and this one.

Yeah, Letters is one of my alltime fave Spander fics, and I've read almost everything on that site. Thanks! *g*

sparrow2000 made this rec list:

I found many new fics there, after I had gone through Spander Files.. :)

entrenous had a emoboy kissing challenge in Spring of 05. The link to the master list of 20 fics/ficlets is here It's all AU - and there are several pairings representing but some luscious spander too!

Hmm. lessee:

Lazuli Kat has a great list of Spander stuff here:

Repossession will take a LONG time to read, and it's a serious AU, but the characters are Spike and Xander. It's one of my faves. Hunger is wonderful; Manifestation probably my favorite on her site, and Still is just so wonderfully creepy and unexpected.

Also check out Laz's Links Page. There's a wealth of untapped stuff in that.

denied_heaven has some really good spander too: Speed Demon in which Spike is a young nascar driver and Xander is his pit boss. Ohh, yummy goodness there. Second Chance in which, ok, I can't tell you that or you'll be spoiled, BUT Xander and Spike get a second chance at love and happiness. Some REALLY great writing in that.

tistoo has some really intricate and good stuff in her memories.

spring_with_xan is a good place for s/x fics too, just scroll through the archives. Oh! as is fall_for_sx

I have so much more, but to list them all would just be....gah! They're all a jumble in my head. OH! One last list: The CoSoRanOb Ficathon on bloodclaim. Holy hannah at all the good stories on that one. Heee!

I've written a bunch of small reviews of my favorite Spander fics here. Probably most are mentioned in the Spanderfiles but there may be one or two that slipped by.

I have a recs page on my website, and I host recs from Cindershadow, Sparrow2000, and Shakatany...

I am a bit sleep deprived and daffy, so I may have missed someone else mentioning The Spander Pairing file at All About Spike is a great place to find older and entirely well written fic.

Julia, it's where I started, nearly three years ago.

Also, Shadowscast's Buffyverse fic:

Anna S' fics (click Buffy from the menu, then scroll down to slash fics link):

Also, check out the slash recommendations thread at but beware that the older threads are full of broken links where archives have died and people have left the fandom.

Julia, the world is full of good Spander.

*facepalm* Turned out the server was playing hinky on mel Rubywisp's site is still up and running here. Oh, and cicirossi's fics are the greatest. Check out her stuff at Xanderdreams and Spikemares, especially "The Adventures of Hopalong Peter" and "Chocolate Hurricane</a>.
