Summary: Destiny, prophecy and other otherworldly forces combine to change Xander and company’s lives.

Author’s Notes: This story is chock full of AU and Canon-y goodness. Some things have changed: Xander gets brain sucked instead of Tara (with interesting results - the return of Hyena!Xander), Dawn is the Key but nobody knows it, Spike is souled (the why’s are revealed later). I am trying to follow canon, but for somethings, the timing and happenings around the event change. Also, I may mention things that never happened in canon, but for the purposes of the story just go with them. Oh and Anya is not around and she and Xander never bumped uglies. Finally, a dire werewolf is like the werewolves in Cursed, more fully wolf than Oz was on the show. They are human-like wolves, their front paws remain hands (although with fur and claws) and they are capable of walking on two feet. They have tails and their human self is still in control (though they can't speak). Anything else you need to know, just ask, but I will explain a lot in the story too.
