Special thanks to the lovely Shanmara for the wonderful banner.

After just a couple of short hours together, the vampire sire and
his beloved childe stirred. The sun had just set and both their time
stamped brains began to awaken.

Spike fully woke first and, propping himself up on his elbow, looked
down on the sleeping face of his new childe.

He marveled at the pride and love he felt, briefly wondering why
his own sire had never seemed to cherish and love him in the same way.
Still, having an off spring was an overwhelming responsibility.

It wasn't all just about the sex, although it was certainly a lot about the sex.
Spike snickered and ran his hand down the bare chest of his companion.
Xander instinctively rolled closer and reached out for his sire to snuggle
with him.

Spike pulled away.
Nope the time for cuddling was over, for now, and the time for moving
on and starting the basic vampire lessons was about to start.
Spike could only pray that their pesky shared spirit was not going to give him
too much trouble.

"Let's go, love. Time to rise and shine. Miles to go and people to eat."
Xander grumbled something about Sires that wear their childe out
then don't let him sleep it off.

Spike shook the groggy childe and then jumped to his feet.
"Come on, Xander. Your Sire is serious. Don't test me boy"

Xander raised his head and opened one eye. When he saw that
Spike was through coaxing he leaped up and quickly searched
for his heavy cotton shirt and trousers.
"Yes Sir. I wouldn't want you to have to spank me."
Xander giggled and jerked on his shoes.

Spike frowned. "Huh?" He watched as the boy blushed
a wonderful shade of pink and batted his dark brown lashes.

'What the fuck?'

Spike's thoughts ran the gambit of 'Don't tell me the boy is as
batty as a fruitcake.' To...'He wants spanked? Cause I don't have
a problem with that. I mean if he wants his sire to blister his ass
I'm up for that. Especially if he doesn't get a move on.'

Finally fully dressed and waiting patiently by the doorway, Xander
shifted from foot to foot to alleviate the pressure of the buttons
against his still tender cock.

"I'm ready. Where are we going? To the city? I've never been
to the city. Is it big? What are we going to do there? Can we see
one of those moving picture shows I've heard about?"

Spike stood with his mouth hanging open. Holy shit! Was he going
to do that for the rest of eternity?

"Get in the Goddamn car Boy! Yes, we're headed in town. There are
some really ugly bars on the wrong side of the tracks, so to speak.
Perfect place to practice some hunting techniques.
Time you learned to be a proper vampire. Can't always count on your
sire to support you."

Xander watched as Spike marched down the porch steps, rounded the
corner and ducked into the barn where his beloved DeSoto was stored.
Within seconds the car roared to life and whipped up to the front of
the house. The passenger door flew open and Spike called out,
"Get in."

Xander was silent. It was a most confusing time.
One he had been expecting yet dreaded.

He knew as a vampire he had to drink blood to survive, and it
was a concept that thrilled his shared demon. The animal blood
they had been getting would not sustain them for long.
They needed human..

He also knew how lucky he was. Unlike other newly risen
childer he had the luxury of being bound to his sire with a centuries
old demon who was already experienced in killing, pillaging, torturing,
burning, and swiping beer from the local convenience store, all the
truly evil things a fiend needs to know how to do.

And part of him was excited to learn these things. To prowl the
darkness and search out victims. To slither about undercover,
smoothly, stealthily.

Unfortunately there was also that pesky shared spirit
that he had brought into the marriage. His dowry, of sorts.
One his sire was not particularly thrilled to have acquired.
It was a handicap that Sire has assured him they could work around.

Xander climbed in the car as instructed. He was more than willing
to put himself in his sires hands and trusted him implicitly.
His sire knew best.
His sire knew what he needed.
Memories of last night came rushing back and Xander again giggled,
glancing sideways at the very confused vampire at the wheel.

"What the fuck is wrong with you Boy?"
Suddenly Spike's brow lifted and a huge grin covered his face.

"Oh, I get it. You're finally excited to be on the hunt. Well about time.
You and I are gonna be quite the pair, we are. Ole Spiky here is
gonna teach you how to scope out and select your victim. How to
approach and corner them and of course how to bite and suck them dry."

Xander frowned. "Hey, you said........"

"Fine!" Spike cut Xander off before he could finish.
"We don't always kill them. We just gnaw on 'em a bit. Better?"

Xander settled in with a relaxed grin.
"Yup. So what do I do first."

Spike pulled out onto the main road and headed the car in the
direction of the town he had visited during the confusion of
the week before. Unknown to the boy, Spike knew the
perfect spot to find just the sort of low life that his childe
could practice on. The type that would not be missed if
the love 'em and leave 'em plan fell through and they accidentally
died.

"First? First, Love, you gotta get their attention. Let them know
just what they are dealing with. Put a little fear in their hearts.
Makes the blood race closer to the surface and the taste so much
stronger. Give it a try Pet. Let your sire see your scariest look."

Spike took his eyes off the road and waited. After a quick minute's thought
Xander spun in his seat to face Spike. He threw his hands up to the sides
of his face and hooked his fingers in a claw like manner.

He screwed his forehead down causing his eyes to squint almost closed.
His nostrils flared open and he stretched his lips back almost painfully over
his teeth. He then began snarling like a rabid dog, spitting and snorting.

Spike's eyes bugged out and the car swerved dangerously over both lanes
of highway. After causing a pick up truck to blast the horn and a
bleached blond in a VW convertible to flip him the bird, Spike slammed
on the brakes and slid to a stop.

"WHAT THE FUCK?"

"Jesus P. Christ, Love! What the hell? Game face you idiot. I'm talking
about your vampire face. I don't even know what the fuck that face was
supposed to be, but don't EVER do that again."

Xander slumped back in his seat and crossed his arms.
He was doing his best. No sense in sire acting like that.
He turned his head to face out the side window and mumbled.
"Don't blasphemy. Sides, it seemed to scare you well enough."

Spike clutched his still chest and felt around, certain that his dead
heart had started pounding in shock. When he finally satisfied
himself that he was still safely dead he again turned the key and
started the engine, pulling back out on the street.

'O.k.' He thought. 'This may be a little more challenging that I had
originally hoped.'
