The Grand Aurelius was something Liam ‘Angel’ Conaill was very proud of. It was something he had built from scratch together with his partner and Angel knew that Spike shared-unusual as it is- a pride between them for owning one of the most well known casinos in the world.

Together with their crew, Angel had made sure that everything ran smoothly in the casino, ensured that all patrons would be save and well acquired with.

Both he and Spike had met on a fated night where both lost something on their own through the same cause: gambling.

Gambling was an addiction for both of them. Like drugs and smokes. Something that can’t be quitted once started.

Angel’s initial impression of the young lad that time was that he was ignorant, childish, and arrogant. But as he got to know his friend, he realized that in more than one way or another, his friend was more than meet the eye.

A loyal lad that was hard to find these days, protective of his friends and those around him, caring than most people Angel had ever seen in his life.

The Grand Aurelius stood between them as an understanding of comrades despite their constant childish quarrels. They watched each other back and in a way they were equals.

Angel knew he was more levelheaded than Spike ever was and ever will be, but he knew Spike was braver between both of them, bold but brave.

He also knew that Spike was especially protective and possessive with whomever he had chosen to give his heart too. And knew with his easily broken heart he would do anything, anything for those he chosen to fall in love with.

Looking at the picture of Xander Harris and staring at the screen where the game between Spike and Xander, Angel sighed.

It was going to be a long day ahead of him.

The Master frowned.

“What? Lindsey Mcdonald is coming here to LA?”

One of his men replied, “Yes, there was rumors going around he was coming to pay a visit to that boy Xander Harris.”

If possible, the Master’s frowned furrowed deeper.

This was unusual.
He had been surprised enough when he heard Spike, William the Bloody himself had arrived in Los Angeles but the fact Lindsey Mcdonald is coming to the City of Angels? The Master was getting a little worried for the young man that had gained his utmost respect.

“Do you know what he wants from that young man?” he asked his informer.

“No idea. But sir? I’ve heard that Mr. Mcdonald is coming here to do some business. Not of the good kind either.”

The Master thought for a while before ordering, “Luke, I want you to go around to gather as much information as possible about why Lindsey Mcdonald is coming here. The actual reason as to why is he here do you understand me?”

Luke nodded his understanding. “And if you don’t get any worthy information, don’t even think of coming back here, do you understand?”

Once again, Luke nodded, but this time with an added gulp.

The walk up to Xander’s apartment was silent. As they reached the door Xander began, “Look Spike-,”

“Xander what was wro-,”

They both smiled.

“Um sorry, it shouldn’t had ended like that,” Xander said abashedly.

“No it’s alright, but what was wrong? I mean after that bloke Riley…” Spike trailed off.

Xander found his smile grew bigger, and he felt his heart beat a little faster. He recognized a concerned voice when he hears one.

He took a deep breathe in. It was good to be honest especially when someone’s concern, so Xander said, “He, well he was my ex.”

Silence seemed to loom around them. Then…

“Oh.”

Xander blinked. That was an unexpected reaction.

“First love then?”

Xander felt himself fidgeting nervously. He turned to look away; but before he could do that, Spike gently held his head still and Xander felt himself gasping.

Blue.

It was definitely going to be Xander’s favorite color from now on.

Entranced, he silently nodded his head.

Spike sighed, but still continued to hold his face. “You know, I never expected a date to be ruined by someone’s ex.”

Xander chuckled slightly. “Neither do I. Sorry I had to do that to you.”

“No worries pet. Now common, let’s see you inside your home.”

Xander blinked again as the warmth of Spike’s hand suddenly left him. He then remembered Oz’s earlier words of inviting the man in.
“Um Spike, are you perhaps free?” Xander asked nervously.

Spike turned to look at him again. “Why, got plans pet?” he wiggled his eyebrows suggestively and Xander found himself blushing.

Suddenly the door to the apartment opened and there stood a panic-stricken Oz.

“Oh god Xander! Thank goodness you’re here. I’ve just heard that Riley’s back in town and not for a good reason either!”
