Xander was taking a shower, washing off the demon goo from his body, when Spike walked in the bathroom. “What do you want, Blondie?” Xander asked him.
“To embarrass you, of course,” Spike responded. “It’s fun to see you blush,” he finished.
Xander just groaned and said, “Spike, get out of the bathroom, I need to get dressed.”
Spike left the bathroom. He was thinking about Xander. How he deserved better than that money grubby wench Anya. She used Xander for money and sex. If HE had Xander he would take him to see the world. He would pamper him. He’d also make sure his friends stopped using him.
Ahhh, but of course since he was a vampire, he’d never have him.
As Xander was dressing in the bathroom he began to think about Spike. Spike who had moved into the basement with him because Giles was having company and no one else could take him. But as time wore on, Spike had started to grow on him. The Vamp was arrogant, annoying, and snaky as hell, but he’s starting to grow on him. And his striking good look haven’t helped. As he finished dressing, Xander thought to himself that this had to be a phase.
As Xander walked out of the bathroom, his hair freshly washed, combed, and dried, Spike just stood there admiring the way he looked. Now if he could only get him in some tighter clothes it would be even better.
“What are you looking at, Blondie?” Xander asked.
“You,” Spike replied, with a smirk. “And imagining you in tighter clothes.”
Xander’s eyes widened, his mouth fell open and closed again right away. “Anya’s on her way over, Spike,” Xander said.
“Does she even count as human? Can’t I EAT her?” Spike complained, with a small pout.
“Spike, you can’t eat her. You’ll get a migraine, for one. And two, she’s MY GIRLFRIEND!!! So no eating her, “ Xander said.
“She’s your sex toy, not your girlfriend. She uses you for sex and money. She doesn’t really care about you, not the way you need her to,” Spike told him.
“How DARE you try to tell me what I NEED? You don’t know what I NEED! You’ll never know what I NEED! You’re a vampire, a cold-blooded killer. So you wouldn’t understand about FEELINGS. So butt out of MY personal life,” he shouted at him.
“I DARE because I’ve been there, just in a different form. Plus, Xander, I’ll show you what you’re missing out on by dating her,” he finished, and grabbed Xander by the front of his shirt and kissed him.
Xander couldn’t believe what Spike just did. Or that it felt so good, and so right.
Anya walked in at that moment.
Xander just looked at her, walked over to her and said, “Let’s go somewhere and talk.”
They walked to the Espresso Pump. “Anya, I don’t know what I want anymore. I’m breaking up with you, so I have time, and space, to think,” Xander said to his silently crying ex-girlfriend.
Then Xander just turned and walked away, with that damn kiss going over and over in his head. He couldn’t believe he felt so much, his whole body tingled from that one kiss. Xander was on autopilot as he walked home. Only after he had walked through the door did he realize where he was.
There was Spike, sitting on the couch, glasses on, reading the newspaper. He actually seemed like a real person.
“Spike, can we talk?” Xander asked quietly.
“Only if you call me William,” he replied.
“Okay, William, can we talk?” Xander asked again.
“Sure, what do you want to talk about,” the vampire replied.
“That kiss. It was amazing. Did you take lessons or something?” Xander asked.
Spike laughed,” Lessons no. It’s just the chemistry between you and me, luv.”
“If that’s true, William, then maybe you and I could try…” Xander said hopefully.
“Of course, Pet,” Spike replied, then leaned in to kiss him.
