NOTES: X-Posted to lover100
DISCLAIMER: You recognize them? I don’t own them.
Spike didn’t want to try this. Too much could go wrong…One sip too many, and Xander would cease to live.
Xander could be very persuasive if he wanted something hard enough. To him, the act of offering his blood was the ultimate sign of trust. Plus he knew Spike would never take enough to kill him, or even hurt him severely.
Spike promised him he would think about it, and that it wasn’t a decision to be taken lightly. Finally, three weeks after his lover asked, the vampire reluctantly agreed on two conditions.
Condition One: He would choose the bite stop, seeing as he was well versed in the circulatory system.
Condition Two: He would choose the moment of the bite , so, to make sure Xander was completely calm and at ease. He couldn’t and wouldn’t do it if Xander was at all tense.
He chose a random night, with Xander snuggling in his arms after making love. He didn’t bite hard, but did give a small nip to the shoulder, just large enough for him to suck enough out a taste but not too large as to cause massive bleeding.
If you get dizzy or disoriented, let me know. No playing Mr. Strong Man. I don’t want to kill and/or turn you.
Hovering over him, his mouth resting on his shoulder, he sucked deeply.
Drinking someone’s blood gave a vampire a sense of who that person was and what they had been through and remembered. Xander was no different.
Spike saw the hell that had been Xander’s childhood, nothing but booze and shouting. He saw and felt the grief at the loss of a best friend. But mostly, he tasted love, trust and passion.
Everything that made Xander tick.
There was also one other small thing he noticed.
Alexander Harris was deeply and truly in love with William the Bloody.
Pulling his mouth off Xander’s shoulder, he glanced into his lover’s eyes and saw just what the blood had told him. It was prominent in the eyes…the undying look of pure trust and love.
Rolling off of him, Spike rested, opening his arms and allowing the other man to cuddle closer, wrapped in a tight embrace.
Before Xander, a night out to Spike had been playing poker, while getting drunk and causing trouble. Now, a night out consisted of a trip to the twenty-four hour market, or lazing on the couch, Xander contently in his arms.
Xander’s true love had tamed the untamable.
Resting in Spike’s arms, Xander laid, sleepy from mild blood loss. Yet, Spike was pleasantly warm from his last meal, and he felt safe there. He knew that his lover hadn’t quite understood why he had insisted on allowing him to feed from him. He could only hope his blood had shown just why he had insisted. He wanted to prove his intentions true, and that had been the only sure way that he knew of. Plus, he wanted to nourish the man he loved so deeply. Then, there was the small thing that he knew Spike didn’t know.
For what he didn’t realize was that within each vampire’s bite was a little bit of who the vampire was. What made them tick…how they truly felt about their “victim”.
As for what Xander felt?
Pure innocent Love.
