Xander was fuming.
It was all he could do to get through the last three hours of the school
days as an internal voice screamed at him
"The son of a bitch lied! AGAIN!!!"
And that was the straw that broke the kindergarten teacher's
His brain continually squirmed around the boggling concept that
Mr. Honesty Is The Best Policy, told the biggest fib of all. He had
made Xander feel like a hypocrite. A pretender and a poser for
presenting himself as a straight man when the truth was, Will was
the biggest liar of all.
Because of Will, Xander had taken the monumental step of outing
himself. Never mind the fact that apparently he hadn't resided in
that closet for years. The intent was there and that was what was
At least the time he had before the final bell of the day rang
gave him a chance to think. To calm down and formulate a plan.
He briefly considered letting it go. What did it matter? They weren't
together anymore. It wasn't like he WANTED to see Will again.
No, he just felt it imperative to confront him. To stand face to face
and call him what he is. Mr. Liar Liar Pants On Fire, and then, like
the adult that he is, Xander could walk away forever.
That was it. That was all he wanted. To establish who was the
As one by one, the students rushed around and left with happy waving
parents, Xander stood out front of the building, holding tightly to
Scotty's hand. When he saw the familiar head of red hair approach,
his grip tightened.
"Ow, Mr. Harris, yer squeezin' my finners."
"Oh, sorry, Scotty. Hey, look, here comes your Mom."
When Willow saw him , she scowled a the man who had broken
"Come on Scotty, let's go."
Willow took the boy's other hand and lightly tugged. Xander held
firmly on his other.
"Hi, Miss Rosenburg. It's so good to see you again, and how is
that nice friend of yours? I believe his name is Will?"
Willow glanced down at her oblivious son and knew his teacher
was trying to talk without giving anything away. Well, she decided,
she would NOT make this easy for him.
"Will? Why he's fine. So nice of you to ask. Come along Scotty."
She pulled again on the boy's arm but Xander pulled him back.
"That's great. Great. Say, Miss Rosenburg, Will had ask me about
um, a restaurant downtown and I wanted to tell him that yes, they
did serve spaghetti. I've tried to call him several times this afternoon
but don't get an answer. Would you happen to know why?"
"Gee no, I wouldn't, but I will certainly give him the...spaghetti...
"Hey, I bet Uncle Will is workin'. Cause when he is workin' he
don't answer his phone."
Xander visibly cringed at the thought, but tried to conceal his anger
and hurt at the thought of what Will, no, Spike, was doing. Now.
Right now. As they stood here. It felt like a Mike Tyson to the gut.
Willow grinned at his obvious discomfort.
"Yes, I'll just bet he is. I'll bet he's VERY busy. No one works
harder and longer at his job than Will. Sometimes when he
COMES.... home he is just SPENT."
Xander gritted his teeth. He was through with the word games.
"Where is he working, Miss Rosenburg?"
"I don't know Mr. Harris."
"Oh, I'll bet if you think real hard you will remember."
"No. No, I don't think I will."
Finally, Scotty had had enough. He was tired, hungry and wanted
to go home. Grownups could be so annoying.
"I know where. He works down in one of those big buildings
on Reese Road. I'm not allowed to go there cause they don't
let no kids in but we has picked him up there before, right Mom?"
Willow just rolled her eyes.
Xander's face flipped into a smug smile and he finally released
"Reese Road? Well, thank you Scotty. You are very smart."
Willow promptly turned and marched off as the boy exclaimed,
"Wow, Mr. Harris sure likes to hold my hand."
Xander wasted no more time. He tossed his case of papers to be
graded in the back seat and he headed for the far end of town.
His older model Chevy was fueled by low octane gasoline, while
his body was spurred on by high octane righteous indignation.
Arriving at the area across the tracks from the more populace part of
town, Xander slowed and pulled on to an access road that led to a
group of huge indistinct brick and steel buildings.
It was an industrial complex that housed small manufacturing companies
and apparently at least one porn set.
He discounted the ones that had placards out front naming and defining
the business within, such as 'Richard's Medical, All Your Oxygen
Needs' or 'Speedy Brake Repair'.
When he spotted one with 'Mountainview Video' in small lettering
on the mail slot, he knew this was it. It was a name he recognized
from the back of the video box.
With his heart pounding in his ears and his stomach fighting to control
the butterfly's that beat their wings fiercely inside him, Xander parked
and climbed out of the car. He knew if he gave himself time to think,
he would sit back down and drive away.
So, with determination and his lucky eight ball key ring clutched
in his sweaty hand, Xander marched in the front door.
"Can I help you?"
Xander paused. He stared at the security guard planted at a small
table and he tried to think of something rational to say.
"Hi, yes, um I'm here to see a friend. He told me to drop by.
I'm sure he is expecting me."
The security guard looked him up and down appreciatively. No doubt
another actor. He considered how good Xander would look on film.
He would be watching for this one.
"Yeah? What's your friend's name?"
"Wi...,Spike. Spike Wood."
"Oh, sure. Just go through the double doors and down the hall, but
you need to be quiet. They are still filming and the director will be
calling me to toss you out on your ass if you disturb them. I think
they are making a movie called 'Vampire's Curse'."
Xander nodded. Beads of sweat broke out on his forehead and he
knew he should go. Just turn around and walk away now before he
saw things that he REALLY didn't want to see.
"Right. Quiet as a mouse."
Xander locked his lips, tossed away the key and headed though the
double doors. He proceeded down the darkened hallway on shaky
legs till he arrived at a steel door entryway marked
"SOUND STAGE. QUIET!"
Easing open the door, Xander crept silently inside.
The area was vast and dark. When his eyes finally adjusted, he realized
he was looking at a cemetery. Props and sets of headstones, crypts,
untended grass and an over active fog machine.
When he took a step closer he was able to see what the director
and camera's saw. It was where everyone's focus was turned
There, leaning against the side of an artificial grey stone mausoleum,
stood Spike. His tight firm, pale body shone in the glow of the artificial
moonlight and his usually cool, blue eyes flashed with the deadly venom
of a pure predator. He was every bit the vicious vampire.
He was wearing heavy Doc Martin boots, a long, black, leather
duster hanging open in the front and nothing else. His beautiful white
blond hair was slicked back smoothly and a cigarette hung from his lips.
His sensual, long fingers were capped with black nail polish.
The only other thing he had on was another vampire who was attached
to his cock, doing what vampires apparently do. He was sucking.
