Summary: A mysterious carnival appears on the outskirts of Sunnydale.
Despite the sudden disappearance of townspeople and pets, Xander is
intrigued and wants a closer look. What he gets is more than he could
have imagined.

This story is based on a suggested story idea from the lovely Mystic Oblivion.

As always, thanks to the wonderful Petxnd for the banners that put the perfect
visual to my words.

The front man at the freaks tent cracked his cane repeatedly against the
top of his makeshift podium as he shouted, coaxing potential marks to
hand over a couple dollars and enter the world of "Gods' mistakes and
Mother Natures' rejects."

"Step right up. Come see things you will see nowhere else in the world.
We have Clem, the Sharpei man. Part man, part dog, he has enough skin for
two men. Is he human or is he an animal? You decide. You will see a
gen-U-wine werewolf. All man. All real, but when the moon is high, his
body changes. Dropping to all fours he becomes a wolf to prowl the woods
in search of food and blood. We have a descendent of the original
Lobster Boy. He has no hands or feet, only claws. We have all this and
more. Step up and step in."

Jesse immediately slapped a 5 down on the top of the stand and winked,
grabbing up two tickets.
"Keep the change, Old Man. You look like you can use it."

Xander was shocked and leaned toward his friend, whispering harshly.
"Jesse! Damn, man, that was just rude."

Jesse just laughed and grabbed Xander's arm, jerking him toward
the entrance to the huge tent.
"Come on. Shit, I'm sure that fucker has heard worse."

The barker grinned, showing several black teeth and stuffed the fiver
in his pocket before resuming his schpeel.

The interior of the tent was a long hallway. The designated walkway was on
their right with the display booths sectioned off to their left. As soon as
they entered, the smell of the canvass and the darkened interior immediately
flooded Xanders' senses with the memory of another tent earlier this evening that
had scared the shit out of him and he pulled back.

Jesse frowned. His old friend was starting to get on his nerves and piss him off.
"Come on! What the fuck is wrong with you tonight? Why are you acting
so fucking weird?"

Surprisingly, the near insult helped Xander snap out of the terror that had
cloaked him. He straighten his back and nodded.

Taking a step forward triggered a motion detector that snapped on the
light in the first booth. Inside, sat a creature on a small round pedestal
He was not much more than a head on a body. He had stumps where his
arms and legs should be and claws for hands and feet.

"Welcome to our world, Gentlemen. May I have your tickets please?"

Gingerly, Jesse and Xander held out their tickets toward the creatures' snapping,
flexing appendages. When they were within reach, the fleshy claw of what
should be his left hand, snatched them. Jesse jumped back quickly but
Xander was a moment to slow. When he took Xander's, the claw latched on to
both ticket and fingers with an iron grip Xander would not have believed possible.

Screaming like a girl, Xander grabbed his own wrist and tugged, trying to free his
hand from the bony fish claw as both Jesse and the lobster boy laughed
wildly. Suddenly, he let go and Xander stumbled, falling back and landing
squarely on his ass as the light in the booth went black.

Jesse had laughed so hard, the tears rolled down his cheeks.
"Damn, Xan, you are such a maroon! Come on. The dog man is next, but
don't worry, I won't let him get you."

Xander scrambled to his feet and hurried to catch up to his friend, mumbling,
"Fuck you. That fucking hurt."

Immediately, the next booth lit up and they were confronted by a tall man
covered in folds and flaps of sagging, rolling skin. He had batlike ears,
and a row of sharp pointy teeth that he clearly showed with a huge smile.
He lifted a giant paw/hand and waved.

"Hi! How you guys doing tonight? I'm Clem. Nice to meetcha. I'm a
dogboy. I'm a Scorpio. I like long walks on the beach and cuddling by a
roaring fire. I love to play poker and my favorite treat is Siamese kittens."

Before either boy could laugh, Clem reached into a basket behind him,
pulled out a kitten and proceeded to bite it's head off. Xander was horrified.
He felt the adrenalin shoot through his body as he slapped a hand over his
mouth to stop himself from crying out.

It took him a few seconds to realize that the sound Jesse was making beside
him was not a shout of outrage but laughter. Xander stared at his friend
trying to comprehend.

"For Pete's sake, Xan, it's a fucking trick. That ain't no real cat."

Xander quickly looked back, but the light had already gone out and the
booth was dark. He was beginning to think if he didn't get a grip soon, he
may just have a heart attack. This was either the worst night of his life or
the best. He would decide later.

Before they could discuss what sort of slight of hand had been involved, the
next booth beckoned them. When they approached, they were stunned to
see a gorgeous woman. Long dark hair framed a soft pale face of blue eyes
and full red lips. When her booth light came on, so did the music. Dressed
as a harem girl she wore only a thin fabric that covered her chest to the tops
of her pale thighs. She began to sway to the rhythm of the sound. Her hips
moved sensually as she turned, her eyes locked with theirs.

Jesse eased forward, his voice was breathless and low.
"Fuck, yeah, Baby. Show us what you got."

As the tempo picked up, so did her movements, undulating and apparently
losing herself in the sexuality of the moment, she closed her eyes and ran her
fingers through her long, thick hair.

"Show us your fucking tits, Baby. Come on. Show us your kooch."

"Shut the fuck up, Xan. I paid my fuckin' money and I want to see her pussy!"

Without a word, the dancer looked Jesse in the eye and smiled. Slowly,
she reached for the thin fabric that covered her body as she continued to
move and roll to the music. Then, with a snap of her wrist, she jerked the
material away from herself revealing a very masculine chest and an impressive
cock and balls.

Before they could comment or get a better look, the light snapped off.
This time it was Xanders' turn to hoot and laugh.
