Chapter 16/23 + Epilogue
Rating: NC17 Overall
Joe scooted forward and sat next to Spike and glanced at him, there was a wide grin on his face as he watched the girls persuade Xander to jump up and down and turn on the spot and then taught him to sway his hips and shake his ass.
Joe spoke quietly. "You are a brave man, Mr. Spike."
"But very foolish I think."
Spike twisted round and looked at him a scowl on his face. "How's that Mate?"
"Just-Xander loves you."
Spike pursed his lips. "It doesn't always seem like that."
"You let your fear of what happened in the past, build a wall here in the present."
"Let's just say I've learnt by my mistakes."
Joe shook his head. "Just-Xander cannot break down the wall alone, you must help him. You must learn to express what is in your heart."
Spike sighed. "I believe in deeds not words."
"It is sometimes hard for Just-Xander to see what is in front of him, to see that things can change. Deeds can go unnoticed."
"So can words."
"Not if they are spoken with conviction, with the truth of the heart."
Spike felt his temper flare, Xander had left him and it hurt, hurt so much. "He left me," he snapped. "he went with fucking Omar without so much as a backward glance." Joe frowned. "You did not believe him when he said he would return? That it was only for a short time?"
"No, yes," Spike shook his head. "I don't know!" He hated feeling confused. "People leave me, they get what they want, make me care and they leave." Joe put his hand on Spike's shoulder. "That was the past, trust in the present, trust in him."
Xander slapped at the grasping female hands. It had been many years since he'd been manhandled by a woman, the dreadful day his mother had forced him into the blue, bunny suit with the ears. It was true, he did look cute and he had the carefully hidden photos to prove it. He shuddered, but he was six years old and he'd been mortified, it was a wonder he hadn't been traumatized for life. There was no way in Hell Spike was ever going to see those photos. Giggling voices and smiling faces showed the girl's good humor and intentions and he relaxed a little. They encouraged him to jump up and down and turn on the spot, sway his hips and shake his ass, they slung strings of colorful beads round his neck and soon he found himself laughing along with them.
Humphrey slowed to a walk and stopped, Tarak cut Oz's hands free and he slid from the saddle. "Stone is your friend and he has stolen our most precious jewel."
"Stone is no fucking friend of mine he stitched me up again! I catch up with him I'm feeding him to the maggots!" Tarak nodded. "You mean what you said about helping us?"
"Sure, Tarak, pal, buddy I want to find the jewel as much as you do, more even." Tarak studied him. "If you lie or double cross us, I will find you and kill you." Oz swallowed. "I'm not lying, no double cross I swear."
He followed Tarak to the center of the camp. Men were stood or sat around campfires, some juggled with flaming sticks. A narrow strip of glowing coals had been laid out and bare foot warriors strolled up and down seeming impervious to the heat. Oz looked and Shrugged.
"Amazing what passes for entertainment round here," he muttered.
"First you must become one of us. You must become Sufi." Tarak explained. "Sure thing." Oz nodded eagerly. A warrior brought some flaming sticks and Tarak began juggling them. "Sit down, take off your shoes and socks."
Oz sat down and took off his shoes and socks.
"If you are to become one of us you must learn to see with the eyes of your heart, not with the eyes of your head." Oz looked up and nodded. "Gotcha, yeah."
"Your heart will never give you fear or pain," Tarak led him toward the glowing coals. "if you know our ways." Oz looked at the coals and backed away. "No thanks pal, keep the jewel."
Tarak walked towards him juggling the sticks, Oz lent back.
"Are you afraid?"
Oz backed away as the warrior advanced. "Hey, it's not that, I just had my feet resoled."
"What is the worst that can happen?" Tarak advanced.
"I could wind up a Kentucky Fried Chicken!"
"And the best that can happen to you?"
"I get through this, find the jewel and kill Stone."
"It's your choice, look down."
Oz looked down,he was standing on the bed of glowing coals. "Oww! Eeeh! Ahhhh! Ouch!" He hopped about, jerking his arms and legs as he danced. He hotfooted it to the end of the coals. "Hot! Hot coals! Ehh, ooh,, ahhhh! When he reached the end he turned, a beam on his face. "I did it! I did it! I'm one of us!"
Tarak nodded, Humphrey watched with interest and flicked his ears.
The girls laughed as Xander's shirt was pulled over his head and tossed away. A gaily colored shawl was produced and tied tightly around his hips over his pants. They made him take off his socks and shoes, taught him a few more steps and then pulled him into the dance at the far side of the circle.
At first his movements were stiff and awkward then he realized the people were laughing with, not at him and he relaxed. The music took over and his movements became fluid, he laughed as he towered above the girls. He jumped, shimmied and shook matching their movements and in time to the beat of the drums.
Firelight cast a ruddy glow on his chest and face and his shaggy hair fell in his eyes, his shoulders rolled, his hips swayed and his ass shook.
Spike watched grinning. As quickly as it had flared his temper cooled, he sighed in resignation, he was love's bitch and there was no getting round it.
The brunette danced nearer to him shaking his hips and raising his hands over his head, his skin glistened with sweat, bare feet kicked the earth and he threw back his head and laughed. He was the picture of debauchery.
Spike's nostrils flared and his cock twitched and began to fill . Joe lent forward and pressed a tube into his hand. Spike glanced and it and gave Joe a quizzical look. "Thanks mate," he shoved it in his pocket.
"Go to him Mr Spike."
Xander danced in front of Spike, he faced him and swayed his hips and raised his hands above his head, then he turned and shook his ass.
Spike surged to his feet.
Xander turned and looked into blazing blue eyes, his dance faltered. "Spike?" Spike's arm snaked round his waist and he pulled him into hard, almost brutal kiss. He let him go and grabbed Xander's right wrist towing him toward the nearest decorated hut. Xander dragged his feet and pulled back. "Spike!! Spike! Goddamn it Spike what are you doing?"
"I'm going to fuck you so hard, you won't sit down for a week!" Spike growled.
Xander's eyes lit up. "Whoooooooooooooooo! Well why the fuck didn't you say so?" Xander began to run.
