An hour of so later, there was a deep breath as Spike started waking up, "Hey, pet. When did you move us out here?" He looked around at the living room, then at Xander with a lazy smile. "Didn't you nap too?"
"Nope. I think this whole half-vampire/hyena/demon thing gives me an extra boost" he kissed Spike's lips lazily. "So... you don’t remember our conversation?" he didn’t know why he felt a little disappointed at the idea that Spike didn’t remember what they talked about, but they we just joking around right?
Spike looked a little worried, "A conversation? I thought that was just my dream." He blushed and looked down. "Did... it happen to be about having babies?" he whispered, looking up at Xander. "I mean... I would love to have kids, but I don't know if I could, because I am a vampire."
"Well I was thinking more along the lines of me, but... I mean we have a lot of stuff to deal with before we start with that stuff, right?" He started fiddling with his hands, not wanting to look Spike in the eyes. 'This is kinda stupid. Me? Having a baby? Even if it was possible...'
Spike bit his lip sadly, "Yea... duh, pet. Don't worry about it. Little bit's are for later in life." He chuckled, even though, deep down he was upset, knowing that he really wanted to have his own child... with the one he loved, who just happened to be Xander.
Xander tried to hide his disappointment and think of a new topic of conversation. "We could still do the dog. I actually was thinking of getting one a couple of months ago. And then again so that you can have someone here when I start going to work again. But we really do have to focus on this Toth thing. We keep getting sidetracked."
Spike let out a frustrated sigh, "Alright, pet. Let's find him soon." He looked at the TV, then he stood up slowly, and looked down at his lover. "Let's go now." He raised an eyebrow and reached out a hand to Xander, "Come on," he urged.
“This second?" Xander looked around the room to see what was making Spike want to go so quickly. Not finding anything, he took Spike hand and let him help him pull him up.
Spike pulled him up and held it as they walked outside into the darkness.
"Where do you think they are at? Did Giles tell you anything like that?" He bit his lip, "Oh! Maybe they are at the dump site..." he tried.
"Where were you when it happened? I thought it was at the dump... maybe not."
"What's wrong with you?" Xander asked as he looked at Spike with a raised eyebrow. He sighed, now used to his lover having strange mood swings. "Yea it was in the dump. We'll check there first." He steered them in the direction of their new destination.
Spike was still upset about the baby subject. Xander had no clue how much Spike had wanted his own child, for over 100 years.
"Sorry. Just... not in a good mood, pet. Didn't mean to take it out on you." He leaned over and kissed Xander's cheek softly, "Forgive me?" He looked at his lover sadly.
"Of course" Xander said with a shrug. "Now come on," he grabbed Spikes hand and started to walk faster.
The dump was dark, quite, and quite frankly, scared Xander. He moved closer to Spike's side and held his hand tighter.
"This is kinda creepy."
Spike couldn't help but laugh; his boyfriend was so cute, being nervous. Yet, it made Spike think that Xander didn't trust him to take care of them.
"Pet, don't worry. I will protect us." He rubbed Xander's back gently. He saw a tall figure up a head, "Hey!" he called out.
The figure turned around and growled a little.
Xander moved in front of Spike, growling. His instincts were telling him to protect his mate from the potential threat.
The 'threat' was moving towards them and Xander vamped out, making his growl louder so the demon could hear it.
Spike tilted his head and heard the demon start talking to them in a different language, "Pet, watch out." He moved Xander to the side and he listened closely, before speaking back in the same language.
“Please speak our language.”
The demon nodded and started speaking in English, "What is it you want?" he rasped.
Xander was still letting out a low growl, letting the demon know that he was ready to attack if he had to.
"We need a favor. We're willing to pay,” he growled out.
The demon then smiled, seeing how Xander was wanting to protect his mate. "Ah... mates, and love. I can feel it."
He moved closer, but not so close that it would make Xander attack, "What are you willing to pay me for my services, and what would you like done?" His eyes bright as he looked back and fourth.
Spike looked at Xander, "You need to explain, pet."
"We need to take someone out of his head," he pointed to Spike, "and give it it’s own body. Then we need to do the same with one of mine. We're willing to pay just about anything."
The demon nodded and started to stroke his chin. "This we can do. For a hefty price of course."
Spike stepped forward, "Anything. We can get you anything, or whatever you need," he begged. He reached back and held tightly onto Xander's hand, and looked back at him, gently pulling him closer.
The demon smiled and nodded again. "Need time to think of payment. When do you want to do this? We can do now, but you wont find out payment ‘til after."
Xander fully transformed and tackled the demon to the ground.
"Cash! We're gonna pay you in cash or some type of object! No tricks!"
The demon stared up at Xander in shock, "Yes yes! Okay, we will do that, but we won't be able to tell you the payment ‘til later." It was trying to be calm as it stared Xander straight in the eyes. "We don't lie," he rasped out.
Spike reached down and pulled Xander up. "They are gonna help us. Don't hurt the help," he growled.
"Fine. Lets do this," Xander growled.
The demon lead them into a warehouse and drew two circles on the ground next to each other.
"One stands here. Then I do spell. Person appear in other circle. We only do one at a time. But know, once done, you cannot be together too long. No more than 20 minutes, or will merge back. Others must leave town. Now who first?"
Spike looked at Xander confused, "I don't know if I can do this now," he sighed.
'Wil... we won't be able to be near each other...'
'What? Why?' he smiled at the pleading sound in Wil's voice.
'I don't know. But he said we can't be together longer than twenty minutes or we will merge again.'
'Ask Xander what he thinks... and... if he wants to. I won't stop him.'
Spike looked at the demon first, "Are we ever gonna be able to see each other again?" he asked worriedly.
"If stay far enough, you can see once a year for... half hour."
Xander didn’t like the sound of this. 'Alex?'
'Yea, I heard. I'm fine with it. We can still talk on the phone and stuff. I'm just worried about Wil.'
Xander turned to Spike. "What do you and Wil think? Me and Alex are fine, we're just worried about you two."
Spike covered his face with one hand, "He... won't stop you. He just wanted to be able to spend time with us all together. I mean... he was me before I was turned," he looked down sadly.
He closed his eyes, 'I think... we are gonna do it, Wil.' He could feel the sadness and tears, 'I'm sorry...' He sighed to himself.
"Okay..." his voice cracked a little.
Xander saw how upset Spike was and didn’t even want to imagine how Wil was doing.
'Xan...' Alex sighed.
'I know,' he sighed as well.
He took Spike's hand and turned to the demon. "Thanks, but no thanks."
Pulling Spike behind him, he turned and walked out of the building and then out of the dump.
Spike shook his head and pulled Xander back. "No! We need to! They deserve their own lives also!" he begged.
'I do. I want to live a life with Alex. We can even call you everyday,' Wil tried to cheer up Spike.
'We can. I... hate it though. Not being near you.'
Spike pulled Xander back inside. "We will do it. But you better make it worth the price," he growled to the demon.
"Spike, we don’t have to do this. We're fine either way," Xander gripped Spike's shoulders and made the vampire look him in the eyes.
The demon was getting mad at how long this was taking. "Someone in circle now or no deal."
Spike closed his eyes, not wanting Xander to see his tears. "We can do this," he whispered, leaning forward and kissing Xander's lips softly, "I love you. Just like Alex and Wil love each other. Except, we see each other more often then they see each other," he sighed.
Spike pulled away and stood in one of the circles, and he let out a deep breath, his body slightly shaking from fear.
Xander wanted to stop Spike, but it was too late. The demon began to chant in a demonic language and Xander felt his demon begin to fidget. The skin around the spikes sticking out of his body were starting to itch and so were his fangs.
'This better work,' he thought.
