Summary: This story is a followup to Mouse but it is not necessary
to have read it. Xander brings Spike home to kill a mouse.
The mouse escaped and Spike stayed for the fun, games
and conflicts that S/X always get up to. One night Spike
gets more than a little drunk and does something stupid.
Comments: The last few stories have been drama and trauma. I felt
we needed some lighthearted fluff, comedy and stupidity.

for her betaing of boo boos. It should be noted that if any
irregularities remain it is due to the Bee's bullheadedness.
Luffton slipped through the walls and squeezed in the small opening that led to
his master's closet. The strange, loud noises that his master and the human made
when they were mating seemed finished and the nest room was quiet and stinky.
Luffton had chewed holes in all the cereal and cracker boxes on the shelves.
He nibbled at the yellow snack cakes and dipped his whiskers in the fluffy,
sugary filling but, for some odd reason, he didn't enjoy it like he used to.
It was frustrating. No matter how much he ate, he was still hungry. If he
thought back, the only thing that really satisfied the gnawing in his belly was
when he sank his fangs in flesh and sucked.
The dog had been delicious! And as an added bonus, he got to rub his hard
mousey peter against all that warm, bristly hair. It was wonderful! It was
satisfying in a way the crackers and cookies no longer were. It was what
Luffton wanted and it was what Luffton would have!
Spike lay on his side, his head propped up on his hand and his eyes sparkling
bright blue and gleeful. His smile was unguarded and animated, and it was
almost impossible to stay annoyed as Xander listened to him talk. Almost.
"It will be great, Xan!! I know you will love Luff once you get to know him.
He's smart and quick. You should have seen the way he latched onto that
pit bull. He sank his fangs in and rode him like a bull at the rodeo. Can you
imagine that? As new as he is and already he's a-humping and a-sucking
like a champ."
Xander grimaced and visibly shuddered as the mental picture flashed through
his brain of a sex-crazed vampire mouse having his way with a howling,
offended pup. Apparently Xander's adverse reaction went unnoticed as Spike
continued with his excited babble.
"And now that we are all on the same page, you and I can train Luff together!
We can take him to the park and teach him to catch squirrels and we can
show him how to stalk coon. Of course we may want to start with possum.
They are pretty slow and Luff won't actually have to run far to catch one.
Then after that......"
Finally, Xander had to interject for some clarification before this went any further.
"Wait a minute. Are you planning on the mouse...."
The smile faltered on Spike's face.
"Luffton. His name is Luffton."
Xander rolled his eyes.
"OK. Are you saying that even though I am going to charge out of the closet
like a gay cabalero and tell the gang all about us that...LUFFTON...is still going
to live here. In the apartment. With us?"
Spike wanted to be mad. He wanted to tell Xander that if Luffton wasn't welcome
then the two of them would leave together, but he couldn't. With the loss of the
control of the chip, Spike couldn't be mad at anything. The world was once again
his fucking oyster.
He had a human that he was two steps away from being in love with, a childe
mouse to care for and all the meals on two legs outside his door that he could
ever want. Besides, he knew that once Xander and Luff got to know each other,
they would all be as happy as the fucking Brady Bunch.
Luffton sat by the bed and watched. His sire and the human were still in the nest
and they were doing their form of squeak. Luffton could tell his master was happy
and he wondered if that meant the mating finally worked and the human would be
giving the master a butt mouse soon. Luffton hoped not but the threat was always
there, which was why Luffton did not like the human.
Luffton crept closer and he tipped his nose high and let his whiskers twitch and
pick up the scents in the air. Overwhelmingly, the smell of mating hung in the room
like a foul cloud but if Luffton sifted through that, there was something else.
Something warm and wonderful that made Luffton's stomach growl and his fangs
itch to drop. It was the smell of blood. Then he remembered. The human had
blood like the dog! Luffton was intrigued and he scampered over to the side where
his master lay.
Spike glanced down.
"HEY! Luffton! There's my boy. Come on and jump up here with your sire.
You and Xander need to get to know each other."
Xander's mouth gaped open in horror and he immediately scooted back in the
bed until his bare ass hung out over the side and there was nowhere else to go.
A thousand excuses flooded his brain as to why he had to immediately vacate
the room, the apartment, hell, the planet, but before he could speak, the demon
mouse had jumped straight in the air, as mice do, and landed on the pillow
between his and Spike's faces.
"Shh. Xan. Don't scare him. Don't make any sudden moves. Ah, look how
cute he is. Look, Xan, he's looking right at you. I think he likes you. Oh, my
god, how cute is that? Ahhh. He's sniffing your ear. Oh, I think.......NO!
BAD LUFFTON!!! DOWN BOY! DOWN!!!"
"AAAAHHHHHH!!!! GET HIM OFF!!! Get him off my fucking ear! He's
biting my fucking ear! He's biting.....AAAHHHH HE'S HUMPING MY
FACE!!! GET HIM, SPIKE!! GET HIM NOW!!!"
Spike threw himself on top of Xander who was now flat on his back. Both of
Xander's hands were swatting wildly at the rodent who was stealing his blood
and gratifying himself on Xander's left cheek. Despite the fact that he would have
to admit the mouse belly was extraordinarily soft, Xander wanted the damn horny
thing off NOW!
Spike tried to catch Xander's wrists. He was straddling the boy's bouncing body
trying to still him and at the same time capture his rascally rodent. He really
couldn't be angry at his childe. After all, he was only doing what came naturally.
"Hold still!! Damn it, Xander. Hold still so I can get him."
Xander whimpered. His body's movements morphed into small, irregular twitches
and spasms as he watched Spike lean over him. The tip of Spike's pink tongue
poked out the corner of his mouth in concentration as he gently pried and pulled
till the mouse was painfully extracted from the bleeding earlobe.
Once freed, Xander kicked his legs and squirmed till he was scrunched up in a
ball at the headboard of the bed. In horror, he noted a small speck of his blood
on the pillowcase. Angrily, his finger pointed at the monster invader.
"He bit me! The little bastard bit me again! No way is he living here! I refuse to
walk around my own apartment in fear that at any time that little demon is going
to jump on me and start sucking!"
Spike chuckled as he stroked Luffton's back.
"You don't seem to mind when I do it. Seriously, love. It was all a misunderstanding.
We simply need to teach him what is acceptable vampire behavior and what is a no-no.
See? Ah, Luffton is sorry. Aren't you Luff? Isn't my wittle Wuffton sorrwe?"
Xander glared at the rodent who was licking the last drop of blood off his snout and
sneering in triumph. In Xander's mind, Wuffton looked anything but sorry.
"He bit a fucking hole in my earlobe, Spike."
"Would look bloody brilliant with a diamond stud in it, love."
Just as Xander was about to launch into a fresh tirade, his alarm went off signaling
it was time to rejoin the human population and go to work. In a Pavlov-like
reaction to the sound, Spike yawned and scooted down under the covers.
Xander angrily tossed back the blanket and as he headed to the shower, he stuck
a finger in Luffton's direction.
"This isn't over, Luffton!"
Luffton dismissed the human as unimportant. He snuggled in next to his sire
in what he now considered THEIR nest and with his tail curled around his
little body, he fell asleep.
