Fic search help?

Hi,

I have been searching all over The Spander Files for a story I am pretty sure I read originally on there but with no luck so I thought I would try my hand at asking on here. I don't remember much about the story except that Spike cannot talk because someone has injected wooden shards or toothpicks? Into his lungs and body. Like him and Xander will go to bed and in the morning the bed is full of wood that has come out of Spike. That is all I remember, I know that is not much but maybe it will trigger something for someone?
