William & Tar-Xan of the Jungle! – Epilogue
“Uncle Rupert, can we see the island from here? I want to try the binoculars now!!”
“Willow, do calm down. And yes, you should be able to see the island from here but please do be careful and try not to fall over the side!”
Grabbing the binoculars from her uncle, Willow raced to the side of the ship, peering anxiously through the lenses at the white sand and trees in the distance. She was so excited at the thought of seeing William again that she was bouncing. So much had happened since her Uncle's return to England 8 months ago. They had all been shocked by William's decision to remain behind on the island, and Uncle Rupert had been rather reticent to give a full explanation within the hearing of a 'proper' young lady! Then the situation had been completely upstaged by Elizabeth's elopement with the Irishman, Liam O'Connor, and suddenly everyone was talking about scandalous behaviour without considering which little pitchers had their big ears pointed in that direction!
Having reached 18, Willow was determined she wasn't going to settle down without at least one adventure and when Uncle Rupert informed the family that he was travelling to Moldennia again – taking a care package for William, and hoping to pick up more of the most useful plants – she had begged and pleaded with her mother for permission to go along! Mother had several attacks of the vapours but surprisingly it had been her father who had said that an arduous sea journey and seeing the conditions William was forced to deal with daily might bring her to her senses and given permission.
Willow had to admit, the sea journey had been frightful. Seasickness had forced her to remain in her cabin for the first two weeks, and it was only through the judicious use of concoctions she had created herself that she was able once and for all to get her sea-legs. Uncle Rupert had said that her mixing of various poultices and potions was akin to witchcraft, but she knew how much he had appreciated the sleeping draught she had mixed for him.
“Oh look, look, Uncle Rupert – we're almost close enough to see onto the beach properly!”
“Excellent, my dear, most excellent. I wonder how soon we'll see William? Of course, he doesn't know we're coming although when I left him behind I did tell him I would endeavour to return within the year if only to provide him with some creature comforts, some books and the like. I wonder if the calendar here works the same way....”
Ignoring her Uncle, who was prone to wittering on, Willow turned back towards the shore, squinting through the binoculars. It was most frustrating that she couldn't see clearly, and she resolved to be on the first boat that made the journey to the island.
As good as her word, Willow sat primly in the front of the small boat that was being rowed to shore. As the boat moved closer, she once again lifted the binoculars to her eyes. She could make things out much more clearly and was gratified to see someone run out of trees and along the beach. She swiftly identified the person as William or at least she thought it was William. His blond hair had grown quite a lot since she saw him last and it appeared to have been almost bleached white by the sun. He was wearing short trousers and nothing else, and even from this distance, Willow could see how tanned he was, his skin almost glowing nut-brown. William was running full-tilt, looking over his shoulder as he ran and she tracked the binoculars along in the direction of his gaze.
A very tall brunet emerged from the jungle, wearing nothing but a loin cloth and sprinting towards William! His hair streamed behind him as he gave chase to the shorter blond man, long muscular legs eating up the distance between them as though it were nothing. He looked quite savage and she feared for William's safety as he was chased mercilessly by the wild-man! As she watched, goggle-eyed, the wild-man caught up with William and ducking down, proceeded to plough into William's midriff and lift him over his shoulders!. Willow was about to turn to her Uncle and tell him that they needed to save William when the sound of laughter carried over the waves and she returned to her perusal. William was kicking his legs, upside down over the wild-man's shoulders and laughing uproariously! As she watched, he was hefted upright in the man's arms and allowed to slide down the front of the savage's body until they were face to face. Willow felt the blood rush to her face in a deep blush as the two men kissed each other quite passionately, William wrapping his legs around the waist of his companion and holding on tight. Even from this distance, watching the embrace caused quite an embarrassing warmth between her legs, and Willow tried very hard to tear her eyes away.
“Ah, Willow, yes – if I might have the er binoculars for a moment – wouldn't want to appear to be spying now would we? Perhaps there are aspects of William's decision to stay on the island that I should um,well, discuss with you further!” Uncle Rupert was a deeper shade of red than she had ever seen him, and Willow handed the binoculars over reluctantly. It would appear that this visit was going to be much more educational than even her father had thought!
Dragging his hand through the blond curls, Xander kissed William back eagerly as he walked blindly towards the shelter of the trees. Unhampered by the tight grip of William's legs around his hips, he allowed his hand to slide beneath the waistband of the trousers William insisted on wearing, claiming sunburn on his privates was something he would rather avoid. Gripping one luscious cheek he pressed William closer, grinding his erection against the other man wherever he could reach.
Gasping for breath, William wrenched his mouth from Xander's, laughing as his lover pushed his face into the curve of his neck and mouthed at the sensitive flesh there. Tilting his head back, he groaned at the feeling of Xander's teeth scoring down his throat towards his chest.
“Oh Xander....” he slurred, then “Oh XANDER!!! Stop, stop – look, it's a boat!!”
“Whuh?!” William wriggled his way out of Xander's grasp, slapping at the hand that had wedged itself down the back of his trousers. Groaning, Xander thumped his head onto the back of William's – sometimes his William could be such a tease!
“It's Rupert!! Xander, look it's Rupert!!” Grinning, William grabbed Xander's hand and dragged him towards the shoreline. He owed Rupert a debt of gratitude for his kind words eight months ago, for without the man's honesty he wasn't sure he would have been brave enough to return. Rupert had admitted to a youthful indiscretion with a gentleman called Ethan Rayne and that he had regretted not following his heart. He had turned the ship around immediately, provided a guide for William to find his way safely to Xander's hut and promised to let William's family know he was safe but not returning.
Turning to his lover, William grinned up at his Wild-man. His jungle adventure had turned into the best decision of his life and he couldn't imagine ever being happier. Waving at the approaching boat, he rested his head on Xander's chest – it was good to be him, it was good to finally belong.
Well that's it, the end of “William & Tar-Xan of the Jungle!” I hope you enjoyed the ride – I know I did!! I might visit to see how William and Xander are doing. Thank you so much for all your comments – it meant a lot and was great encouragement. I shall have to see if Porn!Muse and Plot!Bunny have any other plans for me, but in the meantime I think I'm going to take the weekend off, catch up on all my reading (including some beta work for Mrs Cake!) and enjoy being with my kids!!
