Xander searching for slayers

Does anyone remember the fic where Xan's searching for slayers (in the US, I think) but not to bring them to the Council?  He's carrying something that will drain their power, if they don't want to be slayers.  And there's a demon of some kind after him.  Spike is sent to bring him in, and Xander knows Spike's following him, but keeps one step ahead.

Please help?
